"Rachel makes sure I understand completely before we move onto the next step, which gives me huge confidence in my understanding of music" - Loren, 13
Teaching the violin has always been a natural extension of my passion for playing the instrument. I have always believed that musical training can help to develop confidence and lasting life skills, quite apart from the joy it brings.
Since completing the ‘Art of Teaching’ course during my second year at Royal College of Music, I have built up a thriving private teaching practice. I welcome students of all ages and abilities. From 2015-2017 I taught at St John’s College School, Cambridge. I am currently a violin teacher for Brighton and Hove Music and Arts Service.
My approach centers around insuring each student is given a solid technical and theoretical foundation from which they can develop their playing in any direction they desire, without being hindered by bad habits or injuries.
I offer both practical and music theory exam preparation to students who wish to take these. I also assist with GCSE and A-level Music.
